13 Nationen werden an der Tanzsport Weltmeisterschaft teilnehmen. Österreich als Gastgeber spielt in dieser Sportart eine führende Rolle, OK-Chef Pierre Gider war eine große treibende Kraft, dass der Tanzsport ins Programm von Special Olympics aufgenommen wurde.
Wie sieht es in den anderen Nationen aus? Gider präsentiert die Nationen:
“Slowakei ist neben Österreich eine starke Nation im Tanzsport. Die Solistin, die an der WM teilnimmt, war auch schon 2017 bei den World Games in Graz mit dabei und zwei Jahre davor in Los Angeles. Sie tanzt seit über zwölf Jahren und wird uns sicherlich begeistern.”
“Nordmazedonien ist im Tanzsport schon aktiv und wird sicherlich auch eine tolle Performance ablegen. Tschechien ist ebenso seit drei Jahren sehr bemüht und treibt den Tanzsport voran.”
“Indien führte im Jahr 2019 den Tanzsport ein, nachdem ich persönlich bei einem Meeting in Neu Delhi war. In der Lockdown-Zeit wurde eine Online-Meisterschaft mit mehr als 400 Teilnehmer durchgeführt. Da entsteht gerade Großes.”
“Von Deutschland, Estland, Griechenland, Norwegen, Island und Litauen sowie die Ukraine lass ich mich überraschen. Sie alle haben den Tanzsport erst vor kurzem eingeführt und nehmen erstmals an einem Großereignis teil. In Island spüre ich auf jeden Fall große Motivation, denn es ist ein schönes Zeichen, dass sogar der Präsident des Tanzsportverbandes nach Graz kommt.”
“Der Bundesstaat Washington ist der Vertreter der USA. Das Paar war bei den World Games in Abu Dhabi schon dabei. Mit dieser Teilnahme wurde im Staat auch der Tanzsport vorangetrieben. Ich wünsche mir, dass die Zahl der Bundesstaaten, in denen getanzt wird, kontinuierlich steigt, das hilft dem Tanzsport enorm.”
13 nations will take part in the World Championship. Austria as the host has a leading role in this sport, OC boss Pierre Gider was a great supporter behind the fact that dance was included in the Special Olympics program. What about Dance Sport in other nations? Gider presents the nations:
“Alongside Austria, Slovakia is a strong nation in Dance Sport. The soloist who is taking part in the World Championship was already at the World Games in Graz in 2017 and two years before in Los Angeles. She has been dancing for over twelve years and will certainly inspire us.”
“North Macedonia is already active in dance and will certainly have a great performance. The Czech Republic has also been very keen for three years and is promoting Dance Sport.”
“India introduced the Dance Sport in 2019 after I personally attended a meeting in New Delhi. During the lockdown period, there was an online championship with more than 400 participants. Great things are happening right now.”
“I will be surprised by Germany, Estonia, Greece, Norway, Iceland and Lithuania as well as the Ukraine. They all only recently introduced Dance Sport and are taking part in a major event for the first time. In Iceland I definitely feel great motivation because it is a nice fact that even the president of the Sance Sport association is coming to Graz.”
“The state of Washington is the representative of the USA. The couple was already at the World Games in Abu Dhabi. With this participation the Dance Sport was promoted in the state. I hope that the number of states increases, that helps Dance Sport enormously.”
